Our American Revolutionary War Hanger from Kingston Arms represents a refined version of a popular sword carried by non-com infantry officers. The four-slot guard styling was replicated from earlier British designs. Patterns like this one were produced and continued to be used until the war’s end. 
 
The 61.5cm heat treated 5160 carbon steel live blade is beautifully balanced at 850grams. Our version features a low maintenance matte stainless-steel guard and pommel. The wood core grip is leather covered, and wire wrapped which helps to keep the sword stable in hand. The hilt is large enough that even gloved hands fit nicely into the grip and knuckle bow. The timber scabbard is leather wrapped and stitched at the seam to aid in longevity. The locket and chape are made of stainless steel for strength and durability whilst being worn and drawn. The locket features a frog button designed to be worn with a baldric.
A gentle grip, well balance and a wicked sharp blade, the American War Hanger will please a discerning aficionado. Certainly, an excellent sword for reenactors or collectors alike.
