Antique 1860 Pattern Italian Heavy Cavalry Saber Sword. This particular example is stamped S & K, and was made in Solingen, Germany by Schniztler and Kirschbaun. Many of the 1860 HC Sabers were in fact made by German makers, and these swords are often mistaken as German for this reason. There is a small acceptance stamp of a crown and the letters GL near the hilt.
