Our Scottish Single-hand Sword is patterned after 15th century models originating in the west highlands and the western isles. These can be found on effiges of the time as well as a few surviving examples in museums and private collections. Our example features a peened wheel pommel, lobed down turned quillons and short langet which is typical of surviving pieces. The hilt has a leather wrapped grip with a wood core and matte stainless steel fittings for low maintenance and longevity. The scabbard is constructed of timber with a quality stitched leather cover and low maintenance stainless steel drag and mouth. This has a great balance and is a lively sword in hand.
