Based on the few surviving examples of Viking Age armour the spectacle helm was believed to have been used in the 10th century and perhaps earlier. Crafted in riveted multi plate 16 ga. steel, 1.6mm steel leather lined and ready for actual wear. The spectacle part of the helm has a central ridge designed to add strength to the nasal area.
